About Me

I qualified as a counsellor in 2010 and since then have worked with a variety of issues.  I have extensive experience of working with addictions and work for a charity based in GP surgeries.

For the past 4 years I have also worked as a psychological therapist providing telephone and online counselling for anxiety and depression. This has been useful in the current pandemic as I am already familiar with working in this way.

For me counselling is about connection. We all have a basic need to be heard and understood.

I work in a way to try and understand what is going on for you and through a warm and empathic relationship develop a safe space in which to explore this.  I have witnessed how this can create better understanding and acceptance of one's self which in turn can lead to improved mental health, better relationships and being more open to experience.

Away from counselling I enjoy photography and gardening.  I have a strong belief in social justice and an enthusiasm for learning.

Studies show that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in counselling and it is essential that you feel you have the right person to talk to.  I offer a free 20 minute telephone session in order that we can discuss what you hope to gain from counselling and whether my way of working feels suitable for you.

If you would like to chat about this and feel ready take that step, please feel free to contact me by phone, text or e-mail.
